hey there was a new widget here is the data about that widget and then you're off to the races so you should use a web hook anytime you want to be notified about something happening in the third parties not all apis are going to support all of the event types that you care about the most common ones are when objects are being created updated or deleted but a third party might also have web hook events for specific status transitions or state transitions that happen on their objects so maybe a blog post was published or it changed the status from published to archive those kinds of updates might come in as like a widget archived event or something so that is when you would use a web hook you can use web hooks with a lot of no code tools today so zapier is a great alternative you've also got options inside of airtable you can listen for web hooks you can also use hook relay or pipedrive or there's there are a ton of systems where you can hang out and listen for web hooks
