you can really depend on and rely on stripes web hooks because if your server is down or for some reason you miss an event and you respond with any status code other than a 200 then stripe will retry sending that web hook for up to three days with exponential back off that means we'll try to send the event if it fails we'll try again like almost immediately and then we'll try a little bit later and then we'll try even later and then we'll try maybe a few hours later or up to three days if events start failing also on your web hooks it's a great practice for your third party to email you and let you know hey your web handler's down you're probably not receiving these web hook notifications so i would say a web hook is a very reliable approach to building integrations depending on the third party so look into your third party see if they handle retries if so i would say yep go for web hooks for sure
