about formatting your ruby code so rubocop is a really popular alternative there is also ruby format and you can use prettier today we're going to use robocops we're going to jump in here i have a really poorly written dog class and what i can say is and then the path to the file here that i have for my dog and that will print out a list of all of the style violations it'll also tell us whether or not that is something that is correctable so if we run the same thing with dash capital a this will force a change to our file and you'll notice that we have there were 18 offenses detected and 17 of them were corrected and now when we look at our file over here we see that string was changed from double quotes to single quotes because it does not have string interpolate this list of strings for the colors of the leashes was changed and this string because it is interpret interpolating it was not changed there's still a couple different style things that i would have preferred
