## Description

How to use ruby's BEGIN and END.

## Transcript

what are ruby's begin and end blocks so you can use the all uppercase begin and pass it a block that will run at the beginning of the execution of the program for this file so we can say puts loading or something like this right and now when we run our hello world file it will print loading at the top regardless of where this actually falls so even if it falls between the definition of this function and hello we can even put puts before it puts after it and loading will still run at the very top so we still have loading at the before and end now there's also a special end block that we can run that we can say puts ending so now if we run this we have our loading that's at the beginning and our ending that's at the end this is really interesting because it allows you to do a little bit of setup in the beginning and any tear down at the very end of your ruby program regardless of where these are placed inside of the file we can also have several blocks so here we have two endings and they are placed at the top of the file but they are executed at the end of our program
