Developer Advocate at Stripe - https://twitter.com/cjav_dev ### Table of contents 00:00 Introduction 00:12 Create an invoice from the Stripe Dashboard 00:30 Create a one-time item 01:19 Customize payment options 01:50 Review the invoice 02:54 Conclusion ### Resources Invoicing: https://stripe.com/invoicing Documentation: https://stripe.com/docs/invoicing ### Support If you have a question, please feel free to reach out to our support team on Discord at https://stripe.com/go/developer-chat. ### Updates Sign up to stay updated with developer news: https://go.stripe.global/dev-digest ### Feedback If you have any feedback about this or other episodes, let us know: https://forms.gle/VjNqzRhotM2snYo88 #Stripe #Payments ## Transcript in this episode you'll learn all about how to create and send an invoice directly from the stripe dashboard let's take a look [Music] here we are in the stripe dashboard i'm going to head up to the universal action button here on the top right and say create an invoice directly from the dashboard here i can select an existing customer that i already know or i can create a new customer in this case i'm going to be billing jenny rosen for some coaching sessions that we've had and the items here i'm actually just going to create a one-time item for a pre-agreed upon coaching session so i'm just going to say coaching session and this is going to be added as a single one-time item for this invoice and so ahead of time jenny and i have agreed to a 135 dollars for this session that we had if i wanted to i could also add taxes from my list of tax rates coupons if i wanted to apply coupons and i can save this invoice what's really cool is on the right hand side here you'll see as we're going through building out our invoice we can see a preview of the email that will be sent and also the invoice pdf and the ultimate payment page that jenny will use to pay for this invoice we can change the memo here to uh coaching session for career development you can choose to automatically charge the payment method on file for this customer or email the customer with a link to the payment page and when viewing the payment page jenny will have the option to pay either with ach credit transfer card or wechat pay so there's several different payment method types that are available here also you'll notice on the invoice pdf we can include our own tax ids so these are examples of my tax ids that would appear on the invoice so we can include both the us and the australian tax id here if we wanted and in the footer we can say thanks again jenny then we can review the invoice if we wanted to so this is in test mode you can actually send yourself this test invoice to see what it would look like so i'll send this to myself from this view inside of the invoices detail view inside of the dashboard we can see that the invoice was sent to these email addresses and that the invoice was finalized now we're just waiting for payment here's the example email that jenny would have received we can see it's branded to our colors to our brand colors we see the memo you can also see this big link here to pay this invoice so when we click on pay this invoice we'll be brought to the hosted invoicing page for this specific stripe invoice and we can here enter our card details we can pay with google pay if we'd like or bank transfer or wechat pay now we can see that this invoice is completely paid we can see the invoice details if we'd like those will show up on the right hand side we can also download the invoice or download a receipt this is going to be the pdf version of the invoice an example of what that pdf would look like you can see that our tax ids are included at the top and we have our memo and our footer etc that is how we create and send stripe invoices --- [Back to all videos](https://www.cjav.dev/videos) --- ## Hey Agent, thanks for visiting!
